Maybe he would have been better on remake duty. Establish a region and level scale, then let him loose and let him remix it because as it was he just couldn't handle new regions fully.

Ah yes, does nothing to fix the problems of the region, but instead makes up distractions to add instead, while he was splitting his time on the Gen V battle engine (where he'd seen the sprites for Entree and decided to use them as yet more distraction from Johto's problems).
He'd probably find a way to port DP's molasses-slow engine to Gen VIII to retain the "charm" of the old games too, while he was at it. Unno was dude who did the DLC, yeah? That's why he won't get the remakes, he's not senior enough in GF to be trusted with two projects at once, especially Directing projects, even Morimoto was just a programmer on Gen V.

there was two years between oras and sm. gen 9 is almost certainly coming out next year. plus the main director doesn't usually do remakes or third versions. others do them while they work on the next gen.
