>>46326634It's not wrong, it's just generally music for less intelligent people. Video game music tends to be very materialistic and catchy instead of employing interesting melodies or abstract ideas, having incredibly blatant textures and timbre instead of anything more nuanced, etc. To be very fair, the people who only listen to top 40 or rap aren't much better, and it's not like all video game music falls into the issue of being simplistic and repetitive to a point of fault.
But it definitely applies to Pokemon, which at it's best does a decent but fairly mundane job, and at it's worst (99% of the music from the main games) is milennial muzak. Sinnoh is definitely better than, say, Galar or Kalos (jesus FUCK those are bad soundtracks, and people should shit on them more), but it's still largely emotionally soulless, repetitive garbage that has no meaningful association with anything outside of the actual game itself, unless you're autistic of course and can make up emotional connections that don't actually exist to fulfill the empty void of socialization you have in your day-to-day life.
