How did GF fuck up so badly? If the mainline series was still good these games would rightfully be ignored by the vast majority of the fanbase. Now they're the last hope for the series.

If it's let's go style I will literally jump because I won't be able to take this.. I tried playing through the original DP and I couldn't I'm still traumatized because there wasn't any map to help me get out of Twinleaf town.
They NEED to do it in the SWSH style. There NEEDS to be those map markers...

It's fucking stupid and makes the map pointless. There were SO many kids back in the day that couldn't even find their way out of the starting town in Sinnoh because there wasn't a map to show them where they should go. They CANT alienate us like that.
Many people are disabled and rely on the map markers and roadblocks to help them. I don't want to explore I want to play the game!!

There's nothing inherently wrong with it even if it is a little to simplified.
But you need to accept that Alola was executed in the most horrid way possible. No amount of "soul" can change the game going from being an adventure to just giving the player busy work.

Because regardless of what you might think of LGPE, they dared to do something different, even if it meant falling back onto Kanto for stability. You can't say that Pokemon needs to evolve/change/move forward and then turn around and take a shit all over LGPE. It might not be the kind of change you're looking for but at least it represents a willingness to try something different, which hasn't really existed in the series up to this point. I think people recognize this, even if they don't admit it.

It's not fucking fair!! They said LGPE was for little kids so I got it for my little brother and when he was done with it I tried playing after doing my weekly challenge run of USUM and I couldn't fucking do it.
For a game that's supposed to be for kids, they really overcomplicated Kanto in LGPE. It's not at all how I imagined a Gen 7 game and I had no clue where to go after Route 1 because the Town Map is completely useless.
Why are people defending them removing the map markers?!? That's like one of the best things from SM and SWSH.

Seriously I don't get it. They made Kanto out to be this cool place in Sun and Moon but in Let's Go Pikapoo it's just really confusing and unmemorable.
The game is filled with bugs too!! On the save screen they list Koga before Sabrina but you can actually do them in any order and it breaks the game. It's like they didn't even playtest the games at all and just shoved them out the door.

SwSh unironically made me miss LGPE, but moreso the things it did right. Couldn't care less for the shoehorned GO shit, but the graphics, properly scaled models, and correctly programmed following models were nice.

My big gripe with max raids is how stat changes and non-damaging moves are pretty much useless. There is no actual strategy involved. You just plop down your strongest pokemon of the opposing type, go dynamax, and hit them your strongest moves over and over until they're dead. Then you fail to catch them (albeit, this was fixed in the raid adventures). Raid battles should heavily focus on non-damaging moves if anything. Actually having to weaken the raid boss and use damage over time moves that rarely ever get used in PVE/PVP would've been cool. But no,just keep attacking.

It's like every time GF has a good idea, they just HAVE to fuck it up somehow.

Yeah I unfortunately agree they need to change it but it’s a pretty great concept.

I also wish they added Pokémon guilds and made it easier to play with your friends or to build a community in Pokémon.

I love raids, specially dyanamax adventures but youre right, it has to be something more than just attack.

I would love for itnto have some MMORPG elements like a tank, a healer, a tech and a dps. That way everyone picks a job at the beginning and has more diversity every match.

and interruptions you face while just trying to go literally anywhere. Gen 6 had far better worldbuilding and lore and I think people on here mostly glorify Gen 7 because SM's pre-release was a magical time where literally anything could have happened and people tend to fill in the gaps with what they fondly remember even if it doesn't necessarily mean it's attributed to the Gen they're glorifying.

Gen 6's writing has less interruptions but makes up for that by being a fucking incoherent mess. It has a lot of backstory but how that actually affects the world and how the characters use its knowledge is so dumb that AZ's fucked up past gets completely side staged.

I gotta disagree. Nothing in gen 7 goes to waste and every character builds to the feel of Alola. Most of gen 6's world building is just infodumps and every idea feels disconnected, but Alola has a real developed culture that feels unique from the rest of the series. It's some of the best world building the series has ever had.

But the map feels cramped and small so it isn't fun to really play around with.
