I agree. Gold/silver had a great story With them as well. Teams have gone downhill ever since. Yell was so fucking bad they should have just not even included a "team" at that point. I'd even go as far to say team skull shouldn't have been a thing either.

Galaxy Gang is the worst team for the sheer stupidity of their plan. They are soulless rehashes of Magma/Aqua with artificially raised stakes. Team Rocket is great because their goals are grounded, they just want to make money and expand their powerbase.

I guess in the manga the gym leaders are corrupt too which makes sense given giovanni is the leader and 8th gym leader.

Galactic could've been much better if their motives were expanded upon as much as Plasma. Cyrus is the only villain excluding Plasma who isn't a villain for the sake of being your regional bad guy you must save the day from.

Plasma in general is the best. Original team actually actually had a compelling goal you could make a realistic argument for, and Neo Plasma are just Rocket done better because of their added dynamic with the original group, being a fanatic splinter of Ghetsis-loyalists. Plasma was also the only team that wasn't filled with a bunch of disorganized retards. Also, Ghetsis is probably the only genuinely evil and intentionally dislikable character in the entire series.
