The closer something is to be announced the more likely it is to get leaked. Reminds me of the Jan 2017 Switch presentation. A bunch of games leaked because someone on /v/ was hired to help place standees and arrange booths so he just listed games like Odyssey, Bomberman R, and Mario Kart 8

Because knowing something is coming at a set time and reacting at that set time is comfier than some random ass leak less than 12 hours beforehand. Now, if they release it weeks in advance, that's at least something neat.

I'd say leaks hurt translations. With all the secrecy they make around games, we have localization teams that have to work with no context or image, just plain texts to translate.
