One of the worst consequences of BotW is normalizing in midbudget developers the idea that you can have very clean character models and then environments which look like fucking mud.

The environment looks nothing like Pokemon. At all. It's actually really jarring. They need to make a polished world that still retains some cartoonish features with some realism. This looks like an ugly realistic painting.
