the only thing oras really missed was the frontier
it was a near perfect game by every metric, i would have dared rate it almost as good as hgss if only it had the goddamn frontier
together with xy it remains to this day the only game in the series with a decent online service anyway

Hoenn has some of the best girls. If the DP remakes have catching mechanics like LGPE I will skip them. I would have gotten sword instead of shield if I knew about isle of armor sooner.

I enjoyed ORAS more than HGSS. Even without the Battle Frontier, the game still felt complete. BD/SP on the other hand...

100% true. Aqua/Magma were more fleshed out and interesting in ORAS, DexNav was dope, soaring/being able to travel to specific locations within routes was dope. Really good games that unfortunately left out the best part of Gen 3 while adding some other things that were good but didn't quite make up for it.

ORAS while it felt like a stepback I still have found memories of.

I loved the DexNav feature which let you chain pokemon to get egg moves and hidden abilities. Being able to use stuff like Magic Bounce Xatu in the main story without cheating or fucking around with trading and breeding just felt nice.
