Why are people so upset about the Gen 4 remake? It looks like 1:1 remake to me. Keeps the chibi style characters, keeps the top down angle every wanted to return, Pokemon battles look good... what’s the issue?

Ever think it's not just about catering to old fans but to entice new ones that are not familiar with that generation? Why drop a ton of money on new story boards and mechanics just to keep old fans happy? That's the problem. Why would you want a game to literally be the same thing? If you want to revisit an older game in a brand new modern way, why not want a brand new modern look to show how the series evolved? If you want a 1:1 chibi art style version of Sinnoh then the original games are right there.

They are chibi. Not nearly as chibi as the D/P remakes but their proportions are off. People were fussing about the chibi Let's Go characters and how babyish they look all this time and now they're suddenly not?

Now it doesn't fit the SWSHill narrative.
They're happy that BDSP looks like they lifted assets from SWSH instead of just using the LG style, they don't even care about the actual quality of it.
