The logos have the exact same shape and color. Dawn's logo is obviously not Galactic but there's clearly an intentional connection.

So it's a ret con, that Cyrus based the Galactic logo off of an old Sinnoh region symbol of some kind. Guess it fits since he had a hard on for researching Sinnoh's past to learn about the legendaries and all that.
