I used it to evolve the mons that needed to be trade. Didn't have the thought to trade them for other mons other people would want to evolve so I used the exploit instead.

It was a good first shot at online. There were a lot of issues though. Pvp would disconnect often. GTS was full of duped/injected mons. Everyone was posting shinies for lv 9 unobtainable event legendaries (until people found out how to trick the legality checker). All the cool kids would hang out on gamefaqs and use their board to facilitate trade instead.
