Oshawott was my first ever pokemon since I didn't get into the games until I was a teen. The realization that I would be starting the new era of pokemon with the same starter that was able to originally draw me in blew my mind as I was watching the trailer.

They actually fixed my biggest gripe with the Sinnoh region (I don’t care about any of the starters). It’s final could be better but I don’t get the hate everyone gives these guys. I certainly like them better than the Piplup line. Hell its the only water starter line that I ever actually liked the middle evolution instead of just kinda hurried to get to the final

Honestly I never understood why Samorott didn’t get defiant but empoleon did even though Empoleon is a special attacker and competitive would of made more sense on that Pokémon.

Sam doesn't need a Speed buff, but it should get an Attack + bulk buff, to the cost of it's Special Attack. Maybe also some more physical Ice moves, like Ice Shard and Icicle Crash
