I just want Typhlosion to have its fire on in battle, not just for attacks. It makes sense. Its a fight, its in the zone, its like flexing or an animal making a display to intimidate.

It also makes sense for Cyndaquil to have its flames on in the intro because it want to look more impressive because it wants to be picked. The only time when Cyndaquil shouldn't have its flames should be in Amie or when its resting.

Cyndaquil can still chose to turn on its flame if it wants to (in this case make itself look more impressive). There's also a pokedex entry that mentions that getting excited or surprised would makes its flames shoot out.

I think Cyndaquill looks fine without it's flames active, it's still cute. It should really only have them on during battles or attacks. Typhlosion on the other hand does look sort of lame without them, and I think it makes a bit more sense that it'd have them always on, but I've also seen it drawn in art where it's still cool without them.

I think the main issue isn't having the flames off/on, it's simply having more energtic idle animations and posing to begin with, alongside better proportions.

Everyone pretended it didn't happen. THE defining detail of the Typhlosion line is that erupting fire, a burning passion. Without it, the design is flat. It's like if the Charizard line had no tail flame, or if a bird line had no wings until using fly.

It's possible to not think a change is necessary but appreciate it if it happens. Just like Legends being Open World. The series realistically could've continued as it had for 25 years, but an open world game is also cool.

The problem with the current models Idles have always been the fact that they have just one Idle.
If you encounter a Typhlosion sitting next to its trainer in a Pokemon Center, it uses the same idle as it does sitting both in the status screen and in battle. That's why the models are all just lifelessly stand there and have no real energy or character in their idles.
Pokemon needed to have a "calm" idle and a "battle-ready", Creatures Inc dropped the ball on that one my giving them one idle.

Multiple Pokemon already do? For one, nearly every flying Pokemon has an idle where they're on of the ground. Eelektross has one where it stands on it's fins, Grimmsnarl lowers its arms, Incineroar stops doing it's becoming, Garchomp doesn't have its fin arms up, etc.
