I dont mind they are chibis the thing is that the chibi models look even worse than the xy and oras ones also the in battle models look off and have a weird shading you can barely separate barrys hair with his face

Another argument is, BS looks like Link's Awakening remake, just slightly worse. I think that's the only problem. If it looks slightly nicer people wouldn't complain.

YESS, that's it. In the original Gen IV, you use your suspension of disbelief, as in... your imagination to build the world upon you. BS kind of lies in the uncanny valley part where you know you're supposed to use your imagination, but the world is what it is, not what you want it to be.
Maybe it only works for children, since they have vivid imaginations.

similar to the Secret Of Mana 3D remake. Sure, you can swap out pixel art for 3d models, but then your brain isnt going to be filling the gaps like it would for a more stylized game like the original.

Furthermore, 2D sprites are much easier to recognize when your brain fills in the gaps. 3D models can look lifeless without greater attention to detail. (see here https://youtu.be/A-pmh70cZu4?t=895)
