Probably, but due to the nature of the game, not all this deep lore stuff unfortunately. Although it would make sense for them to release a pretty faithful remake of the originals, so you know Cyrus, then see what actually happened to him in the “prequels”

His Japanese name is Akagi, which is technically the name of a military vessel (a LOT of Japanese human names in Pokemon are plants, not just professors, so this is a little odd), but also can mean "Red Castle". If they make a pun on it (like the Gen 2 prototype's pun on Aomori being Blue Forest) then I'd believe it. It's more likely we'll see the Veilstone myth explored, but I dunno if either will happen.

If they unironically do this and have Cyrus create a new universe then the next game is guaranteed to be kino. Unfortunately I don't have much hope in Game Freak's writers being good unless they specifically hired new writers for this game.
