>>46376514I'll go one step further and say even if there was great voice acting it still wouldn't matter if the game is filled with characters nobody likes and a story that couldn't possibly get someone over the age of 5 invested in it, but that still isn't a reason to hold back progress. It's jarring and embarrassing to do what Sword and Shield did with the "talking" characters. I just don't think your reasoning holds up, you should still try to improve things as much as possible, they will never be "perfect".
Personally, voice acting isn't high on my list of important wants, that's just an example. I would really like following/rideable pokemon to be expanded upon, I would like some meaningful form of online co-op, especially since online is paid now, obviously I would like all the Pokemon back, I would like to be able to do contests and Pokeathlon in every game as a standard feature, I would like Sinnohs Underground to be in every future region as a standard feature, I would like the battle system to be meaningfully expanded on with a new system that doesn't just come off as a shitty gimmick like Dynamaxing, megas, and z-moves, (Why not introduce moves having a "range" toto go along with bp and accuracy? Having to move Pokemon in and out and managing movements to keep your opponent in your optimal range while being closer/farther than they would like is my personal idea, but that's just me, fuck, do anything to actually change up the gameplay), actually trying to balance the games (I know they will never truly be balanced, it isn't possible, but some bare-bones even minimal ATTEMPT at balancing would be appreciated, there's 0, ZERO reason not to buff absolute shitmon like Ledian and Magcargo), fuck, let us Battle Bond with our Pokemon of choice, give us online tournaments with a spectate mode, let us design and customize and paint our own pokeballs, let us make secret bases again, SOMETHING that actually matters.
NOT tree bark textures.
