I've been a big fan of pokemon for years. I don't like Pokemon Go. Since these games are on sale right now, are they worth playing, even if I don't like Go? Thanks senpaitachi

I think FRLG are good, but I don't think gen 1 is the peak of the series

I really like Red and Blue, so playing them was enjoyable. The graphical improvement to the overworld looks very good and they added a lot of throwbacks to other games and made the elite four more relevant throughout the plot. The catching mechanic is a bit janky but allows for easily obtainable rare pokemon One time I used the starting palls to chain 50 pidgeys on the first route and ended up with the god of all birds

Catching pokemon is the low, but the rest of the game is basically pokemon yellow, but looks better, feels better, and has a number of quality-of-life improvements. Best looking 3d pokemon game by far, and arguably the best 3d pokemon game (I'd stilltake ORAS over it).

No the Go mechanics are shit, play FRLG instead, or if you wanna be really hardcore play the real gen 1 and pair it with pokemon stadium, but you can't emulate if you go that route.
