Game Freak seems retarded enough to have all the characters in Legends just be Sinnoh characters but in old timey clothes. Maybe they'll throw in a curve ball and have a Drasna ancestor, but everyone else will be DP characters.

I really hope so, just so that we can get more Cheryl and Marley art. But on the other hand, having every character in legends be literally the same but with a japanese coat of paint would be pretty boring and contrived.

I don't know, some of them have foreign names even in the original so it is likely that they are not from Sinnoh.
Maybe they could be represented as "missionaries" from another region to draw a parallel with the history of Japan
