The issue is Gens 5-8 added literally no important mechanics to even bother updating.
Fairy type I guess is the only major addition, and it affects a grand total of 4 Pokemon in the Sinnoh regional dex (5 if they add Sylveon, also that's counting the Plat dex, not the original DP dex)

If there's nothing to add besides updated movepools, why even bother with anything other than a 1:1 remake?

Graphical and story updates, as it was done with ORAS. Please don't be retarded, you might not like them but saying that there were no chances from Gen 5 on is stupid, more considering that you talked about updating ORAS to Gen 6 mechanics and then saying that Gen 4, 5 and 6 aren't worth remaking.

There's plenty of great remakes that feel like fundamentally different experiences than what they're remaking. You could argue past Pokemon remakes are examples. Honestly a lot of the mechanics that ORAS benefited from in getting remade weren't even gen 6 mechanics, it was things like the day/night cycle (from fucking gen 2) and the special/physical split (from gen 4).

There's nothing worth adding from gens 5-8 in the D/P remakes, unless they really wanted to include Dynamax/Wild Area and make people seethe

Altering/improving on the gameplay like HGSS did would be the best move, but the creative liberties that ORAS took were mostly for the worse desu. More handholding, more linearity, more fluffy dialogue/cutscenes, free Lati. I'd rather have a FRLG-like remake were they don't fuck up parts of the game to make it feel more "gen 6/gen 8", a Galarified Sinnoh would be as much of a disaster as playing it safe and also take a scintilla more effort.

I saw enough people dreading the remakes because they were sure it'd be SHSW with a Sinnoh skin, but now that they trying something somewhat creative with the artstyle, basically taking the sprites and giving them dimension, they're still bitching because nobody here knows what a goddamn aesthetic is if it isn't in their face.

And even with Legends there's still bitching despite it being a year away still.

I'm convinced you actually want these games to be good. GF might be not suited for the job for these, but you lot actively don't want to be happy about them regardless.

This isn't even a one-off thing either, this has been going on since the original Gen 4 and GF still had some dignity to their names. Now that the games a slouched a bit, the whiney shit here feel vindicated and encouraged, even when games do something well it inevitably be downplayed and be called a cashgrab.

Anything past gen 2 is honestly a story downgrade, since the Emerald and Platinum content has to be cut or completely changed, since those two were about putting the plots of the other two versions together in "complete" package with new stuff added on top of them, while remakes have to split them back up to be 2 versions for players to trade and other shit.

No they weren't. For the first two generations, and maybe gen 3, but Gen 4 and 5 were artistic decisions based on tradition, the DS was capable of hell of a lot more than top down sprite based graphics.

I don't care about the chibishit as long as they include the whole Pokedex on the base game. I would buy it just to be able to get the Galar Pokémon since I hard skipped SwSh due to Dexit and DLC but I actually loved the Pocket Monsters

Dynamax works beautifully in doubles. Only in shitty 3v3 singles does it fall apart bad, but then again thats 3v3 singles.
Nobody was using mega Alteria or Audino when you can use pokemon like Salamence, Metagross, or Kangaskhan.

With VGC, every team is basically the exact same, so dynamax is even more stale there

Because everything can use it, there's more a penalty from Gmaxing than Dmaxing andd as anon above said, when played in the actual VGC format it works as intended. You ash self-inserters really need to wise up to the fact singles battles don't work in pokémon comp. Notice the anime doesn't have two autistic fuckers playing switchy in its full battles.

Thats a lie man. With VGC anyone can dynamax. Just because my Metagross has a weakness policy doesnt mean im going to max it 100% of the time, what if I'm up against a sun team? Do I cry about type matchup or do I max my Entei instead? I have even maxed a support Tornadus suxcesfully because the passive boosts carried my team for the match.
People complain about the buffs/debuffs ruining the mechanic, but in a format like doubles that is actually the pivitol point of using it, about just as important I'd say as using your max as 3 mini nukes.
