Literally every other remake in this series has taken the original and brought it to the graphical level of that current generation. Did HGSS keep the characters fucking 8bit because the original did? No, they put Johto on the same level of Gen 4 because that's how fucking remakes work. Same with ORAS, same with LGPE.

God forbid people have fucking standards and expectations. Even IF the game couldn't be on the same level of graphics as SWSH, meeting halfway and having something that looks like ORAS would have been fine too. Them going full fucking chibi feels like a cop out, it feels like the dev studio couldn't handle remaking Sinnoh full scale, so they copied the DS graphics and hoped they could lean off of the style, only their "style" also looks like complete shit and the game looks bad even when compared to other chibi games like Link's Awakening or Persona Q.

Of course you shills will defend and buy it anyway, but acting like people are in the wrong for not having their incredibly low expectations met is fucked up.

They were created with the current gen in mind. If you were to apply that logic with HGSS or ORAS I doubt many people would want that.

They didn't do this before, and each gen/game has increasingly become more realistic so why the regression? The 2d games were "chibi" because they were on a DS. 3D was supposed to present them properly but they think it's okay to not aim for that anymore because of nostalgia or something stupid like that.

I feel betrayed with these games to be honest. A part of me wants to cope and say they'll listen and do a complete visual overhaul but I know better

Hopefully at least the arceus game has new forms though as I anticipated new forms for sinnoh's lore mascots more than any so far and ngl I'll be pissed if we don't get some kickass new forms & lore for dialga/palikia &/or giratina/arceus.

Not defending GF by saying this, but they were never going to adapt Sinnoh’s tile based world into something better than SWSH. I’m happy the style is chibi again but FUCK are the colors and models ugly. I’ve wanted Pokémon to look like Links Awakening, Stardew Valley or ACNH for some time now. I’m happy they’re at least playing around with a chibi style again. Let’s hope they get closer next time.

Also, the DP remakes had to look distinct enough from Legends to justify people buying both. If they looked identical faggots would complain that they should just be the same game

Not true at all. They always added some value, on top of looking better. Even ORAS, which was and it still is very much shit, added some new forms and redesigns for the trainers. I could even make a case for LGPE at this point.
DP remakes have none of that so far. Who knows though, maybe GF wants to break this convention and make them *purely* cashgrabs.

To me the glaring problem was how empty Galar was. So many places you can't enter, routes, wild area and all that shit. Sinnoh already has a region with established locations, characters, story, and other stuff that SwSh was missing. They had source material to work with, so I feel like they could've done a way better job with a remake that way. It's like working the region around the engine vs. working the engine around the region if that makes sense.

The main appeal of a remake is that the graphics are usually much better and make the most out of current gen hardware for an old game.

Graphics are probably the most important thing when it comes to a remake because that's the reason we are playing it. If I wanted to play DP for the gameplay I would just emulate Platinum.

You have to realize how lazy they are being. All of the story, engine, map design and gameplay is already done for them. They just have to copy and paste it from DP. The only fucking thing they had to do was give it a new shiny coat of paint, but instead they gave it DS graphics and a "cute and stylized" art style .

I disagree. I think the most important thing is showing off features of new games applied to older games. The Sinnoh Remakes were a chance to showcase the new design elements of SWSH - like overworld Pokemon, Wild Areas, and the Follow Pokemon from the Isle of Armor - in a familiar setting.

This game doesn't do that. Once again it's GF throwing out everything from the previous game and starting from scratch.

Also bullshit they are creating new assets. I bet money that they are using the exact same Pokemon models as SM and SS. Ironically the only half decent looking thing is the battles. The overworld looks like absolute garbage. Shrink the resolution slightly and it could run on the DS

Remaster comes from remastering, which is the same as fine tuning. Remake comes from doing something again, from scratch. PS3 games on PS4 are remasters, Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 is a remake.
