I remember fighting Red for the first time in Gold and going down to his last Pokemon (Snorlax) and beating it with a hugely under leveled Sudowoodo that had been in my party since Goldenrod.

A lot of my best Pokemon memories are probably G/S related. I remember when my mom first got me the games; I remember being at a friend's house during a huge snowstorm and just battling/trading; and I remember all the mystique; I remember being blown away by the day and night cycle and not being able to ever do any of the events that took place in the early morning (like catching Ledyba) because I wasn't allowed to play vidya until after school; I remember talking with other kid at school about all sorts of 'that kid' sounding bullshit like the Lapras that only appeared on Tuesday, Tyrogue, Entei/Raikou/Suicune, and so on.
