what I thought there was no kanto pandering but the entire game I've seen nothing but pandering this whole gym you're walking on charizard heads

unova is a reboot, kanto 2.0
I don't give a fuck about kanto pandering so that's not my problem with the games, but there is some questionable choices in the development

I think the problem with Unova and gen 5 is that they feel like the game does not know what the fuck it wants to be, an awkward transition phase for the franhcise between the philosophy of gen 1 to 4 and gen 6 to present. What is funny is that with the remasters and Legends there is a chance we will witness another transition phase for the game's general design from now onwards

the kanto pandering was that unova was literally a kanto reboot project. they gave us kanto with a different art style and limited us to the new pokemon to see if newer generations could stand in isolation and failed. all the crying during gen 5s release means we'll never see something like this again

Yeah lol? As soon as I saw that you needed to trade to get Conkeldurr and Gigalith the connection was made. Then it's a matter of looking at Frillish and Woobat and it all made sense.
