>>46399387Definitely, but then again it was an overcrowded school system in Florida so even in the really young grades we had everything from the weird kids pretending to be a werewolf pack 24/7 to arsonists to future gang recruits - like grew up with family in gangs and were not just likely to get rolled into that life as teens/adults but already getting suspended for bringing weapons to school, inappropriate language, beating up or threatening other students, throwing gang signs, ect. My mom was a TA at one of the schools for years and part of her job was actually researching which gangs had how much presence in our area and what the current dress/lingo/signs and rivalries were between them so she could give that info to the teachers to help keep those kids away from each other or at the very least avoid having kids associated with rival gangs in the same classes when there were just too many to keep apart entirely. Because of this one girl my mom worked with a lot who was in with the bloods decided she wanted to kill my sister to get back at her for breaking up a fight between her and a kid in with the crips one day so my sister got moved to a different school, they were in 3rd grade while I was in 5th at the time so no real issue for me there, doubt that girl even knew who I was. I never got bothered until middle school when one kid decided he had nothing better to do than make fun of me for still liking pokemon (only to end up asking me for help with the new games years later) but considering the worst he had was "pokemon's stupid, pokemon's for babies, you're a stupid baby for liking it" he was pretty easy to ignore and just kept talking to my friends instead of reacting. But man, doing that every day for 2 years, he must've been more autistic than most of us on this board.
