>>46399789One of the things that boggles the mind is how the counterfeiting retards haven't figured out how to print holofoil yet- and they've been knocking off cards for decades now. Whenever I see 'replica' or 'proxy' cards that are supposed to be holofoil, it looks like half the time they just print out a copy of the card with a static holofoil image on it, and it looks like shit. Sometimes they'll overlay a different holofoil texture on top and it looks like ass. Occasionally, you'll see a card that was a different holofoil with the ink rubbed off and a rarer card overlaid on it.
How hard, honestly, could it possibly be to hit up some shady 3rd world factory that prints holo designs, get them to make rolls of holofoil using the old-school galaxy/star patterns (even though the latter is copyrighted by WoTC I believe. Backwater factories in China or w/e don't give a fuck about IP law and probably would do it for a price.), then print new cards on top of those?
