I always thought the Johto badges were the "shit" or less important badges compared to Kanto. My reasoning:

If the Kanto badges are Chuck's method of becoming a lawyer in Better Call Saul (fancy degree and prestige), Johto is like Jimmy's online course. Still valid, but viewed as lesser.
