>>4640472706 was relatively close Adventure's release when that style of gameplay was still the norm, and Unleashed was when they moved away from it. Forces barely attempted to return to that tone it was nothing like Adventure beyond "kind of serious"
There are a lot of other examples of Sonic Team not listening to fans. It took a decade to fire writers the fans have hated for since their debut game and Maekawa has not returned despite wanting to write more games and fans wanting him to come back, Sonic's friends have not been playable in modern games to appease normalfags and journos who don't like them, the comics have exiled fanfavorite characters that Sega owns the rights to, and the series itself has no vision beyond trying to chase what reviewers might like to see. The Sonic fandom is not happy. They are not being listened to. They're so broken that the best thing to happen to them in a decade is a mediocre movie.
Also while I have problems with Gamefreak and Masuda they've never done anything as outright vile as what Sonic Team did to Big Red Button during the development of Sonic Book. BDSP is ugly but it's clear that's an art direction choice and Gamefreak's not actively fucking with ILCA's ability to create a functional game. Sonic Boom's development shows a clear disrespect and contempt towards fans that even goes beyond Gamefreak's contempt for it's fans.
