>>46405824I want them to make full use of the open world concept and the idea behind catching them all. That means, various modes of traversal. As in your character should be able to ride on top of at least a dozen different Pokemon for the purposes of running in land, swimming, climbing and flying. Ideally the trainer would also be able to climb and swim by himself. This all seems like it will be present. Also want following Pokemon.
I also want Pokemon interactivity to be much improved. From the trailer it doesn't seem like Pokemon react when you throw a ball, so I'd like them to change that, make them run away if another one gets caught, try to dodge when you throw in front of them, run away or attack if they break free, etc. Make stealth an integral part of catching Pokemon if players don't want to go into battle. Make some Pokemon exclusive to different times of day, different days, locations, ideally have seasons in the game as well.
Pokemon should also be interacting with the environment: they should play with each other, dig holes, climb up trees, etc, mechanics like the New Snap where they react to the environment and the player in different ways. Catching mechanics should be incorporated into this as well, you would need to climb trees to catch some Pokemon, or dig holes to catch others, or fly into the air to catch bird Pokemon or plant some berry trees to bait them to land, etc. Fishing and diving should also be mechanics.
Outside of that, just good map design and I hope we get some good caves and dungeons as well.
If they make the Pokemon AI in the overworld at least half decent, then I will love this game. Please don't just have them walk around aimlessly like Swish and LGPE, I beg.
