Yuichi is the director of the project at ILCA and is in direct control and in charge of all ILCA employees.

WHAT, exactly, is Masuda director of on BDSP? He has no underlings, he has no direct control over ILCA, he has no direct hand in the games programming or creation.

His job is to report their progress back to TPC. Masuda has been downgraded to what is effectively a middle man with a fancy paycheck. It's a firing without the dishonor.
