I agree partially, I like the attempt of sticking to the original art style but it still looks really really rough.

The overworld stuff is okay ish to me but the in game battles look awful.

I like the top-down view, but the least they could have done is gave us HD renditions of the Gen 6 or 7 models instead of >chibi. This is literally indefensible on the Switch and GameFreak has enslaved and raped Pokémon fans so hard over the years they've now been programmed to accept a "faithful remake" of the DS limitations.

There is no problem with chibi style, the problem is that it's not in a polished way like the Link's awakening remake for example.
