>>46422014But your definition of useable boils down to 'it can exist in your party'
Could I get a vanilla Ledian to the HoF in Renegade Platinum? Sure, it would be easy. I'd just pack my team with 5 good Pokemon and never use Ledian in any battle (I actually did this with Mothim already in Radical Red). Then I could post an epic screencap and pretend I'm good at the game for using my 'bro' without buffs
But it would be entirely disengenuous to pretend I won because of Ledian rather than despite it.
I don't know why the concept of people wanting Pokemon to be fun to use in a difficulty hack is offensive to you.
>>46422082>early mons that evolve earlyNigga Ledian evolves at level EIGHTEEN. Even in it's debut Gen you don't get it until the 3rd Gym without overlevelling, by which point it's already outclassed by everything else you've found.
Beedrill and Butterfree are both objectively better than Ledian and you get them at lvl10. THEY get a small advantage of being fully evolved before anything else is. Ledian doesn't have that advantage, shit tons of Pokemon are fully evolved by level 20. Even middle-stage Pokemon are stronger than Ledian and you get them even earlier.
That's not even getting into the fact that Renegade Platinum is a difficulty hack, the early difficulty curve is way steeper. Even if we pretend that Ledian is useful early in the main games (it isn't), there's no reason that would translate over to a hack designed to be harder.
By the time you get a Ledian in Renegade Platinum you'd be at the second Gym. You could have
>any second stage starter>any eeveelution>Butterfree/Beautifly which have identical typing, and better stats AND movepool despite evolving 8 levels earlier>a fully evolved Hitmon>Breloom>The evolved form of every baby Pokemon in the game (Electabuzz, Magmar, Mantine, etc) >Crobat>Blissey>Gyarados>SwellowAnd countless more. What room does that leave for Ledian to be useful when it evolves '''''''early'''''?
