Let's Go was a good thing since it cut a lot of the bloat while returning to the core elements of exploration and monster catching.
I'm glad Legends is expanding on this instead of going further into stagnation like SM/SWSH were.

A lot of the difficulty in older games was really just unpleasant. Roaming legendaries were high-effort low-reward. Catch rates were like “lol hope you get lucky or don’t have anything better to do for an hour.” Before exp share boosts most people probably didn’t even use full teams.
Not to say new games aren’t weirdly easy but comparing them to the old standard makes no sense.

When you were a kid roaming legendaries were so cool though. You'd be walking through tall grass and suddenly raikou.

3D pokemon is worse than 3D women. The best Pokemon game was the remakes of gold and silver, followed by the entire fucking sinnoh region. You will never know the joy of building tunnel traps with your friends and dodging cave ins or using hax to fly off the map to get darkrai. No other games had graphics anywhere as good as those two, even if they were pixel based. Get fucked!

Gen 3 didn't have physical special split. That was Gen 4.
I distinctly remember 10 year old me giving my dusclops a ton of +special attack vitamins then later finding out every ghost move was physical.
