I did recently just launch platinum again and I can definitely see the age hitting it. In terms of overworld i think BDSP is doing a alright job, but dear god man, the barry/trainer models and the battle-ground looks unfinished. Really hoping that "Game footage not final" is an actual claim this time.

agreed. The 2.5D looked good while still being stylized enough to get away with cities made of 4 houses.
Then they moved to full 3D and still kept making stylized worlds which don't really work and aren't believable.

Frankly all it would really need to look better than DPPt is to lose the disgustingly small chibi models in favor of something a little bigger and upscale the rest so that it doesn't look disproportionate. But even that as an upgrade to DPPt graphics is still poor compared to what the older remakes did for their time because the Switch can do so much more, even GF can do better.

DP looks far better purely by virtue of it being 2D with limited 3D elements. The chibi style works far better in 2D than it does 3D. Look no further than the little horseshit abominations known as Funko Pops to see that principle in action. While the 3D stuff that was 3D before having a higher polycount is nice, it doesn't make up for the shortcomings of those godawful character models you're gonna be spending the whole game staring at. DP looks hardware appropriate, whereas BDSP looks like an out of season april fool's joke. Being able to identify a piece of dog shit had nothing to do with how old you are.
