Yes Staraptor, Talonflame and Corvoknight are good but my autism also makes me try not to use the same mons as my rival and most of them use birds

I have to this day never used Alakazam because EVERYONE used one in school and I wanted to be different. And then being a trade evolve didn't do it any favours as I hate using them in play throughs. I have nothing against the line itself, it's pretty interesting, one of the cooler mono psychics

i am using bellsprout (now weepinbell) in my current runthrough of SoulSilver and it has been great so far. sleep powder to help catch others, it can learn cut and have it be useful in battle. and it kills my rival's krokanaw since i chose cyndaquil

i am also using noctowl for the first time, and i am unlikely to ever again. i forgot hypnosis was 60 acc in gen 4, vs sleep powder 75 acc. even with Shell Bell (fantastic item ingame) she dies a lot

I just chalk it up to choosing the water starter in almost every game. That, combined with my "I can only use new mons in the first game of a generation" rule means I jsut never get the chance to use it

Also Eevee. I've never used Eevee or its evolutions in any playthrough outside of a single Leafgreen nuzlocke where I used Vaporeon

i tried using ampharos during a playthrough of soulsilver and ended up swapping it with nidoking. i didn't find it to be particularly that useful, that and i've heard raikou strongly outclasses it as well
