We knew GameFreak had access to the NX hardware way before the Switch release, and we expected BotW to simply be the very beginning of what Switch could offer, being a launch title and a port from Wii U. Pokémon for Switch looked to have limitless potential.
Images like this were everywhere on the internet. This is what people genuinely expected.
When that surfing image got leaked and it looked so terribly similar to Sun and Moon this board fucking died. Our patience was already at its limit, and somehow a few of us believed it just because of how unbelievably shitty it would be if that image was real.
