I know the same people who designed the models are not the same ones who design merch, but I don't understand how these designs ended up so ugly. TPC or whoever was in charge of approving this clearly knows how to design much better looking chibi trainers.

I find Pokemon trainers to look really flat in scale figures imo. I haven't seen a single one I've been tempted to buy. I find nendoroid trainers to look a bit better and I feel like I got what I paid for.
