>>46447090There is always some objective measure of quality, even in art. It's true that enjoyment nearly always comes down to subjective terms, but there are still objective measurements to be made somewhere.
Here, have an example of an objectively shitty product:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcjAUN5Ssj8Right here, with a direct comparison to the same exact product but not made of shitty plastic that disintegrates in your hands. No matter how you cut it, Randy is an objectively shitty toy because it crumbles in your hands making its intended purpose, to be played with, impossible.
So how does this apply to Pokemon? Well, SWSH, base SWSH as in the game that sold 20m copies, has objectively less content than its predecessor SM. It is glitchier than SM. It has worse pop-in than SM. It has less Pokemon than SM. Several ways in which SWSH is an objective downgrade from SM, making it an objectively worse product. You can say you enjoy SWSH more, and unironically a second run through SWSH is far more tolerable than a second run through SM, but these objective factors still exist that make base SWSH a worse product on an objective level. And the fact that it has sold 20m copies has likely sealed the fate for this franchise going forward, so you can expect more of the same.
To answer OP's question, consooming is bad because it (potentially) ruins it for the rest of us by letting producers know it's okay to produce objectively worse products. If you're fine with that, sure, just keep in mind the rest of us will be unhappy and will voice our unhappiness until we get change or simply go away.
