The worst part about replaying Kanto is that the dungeons feel same-y. There's only one forest but five different caves but only Mt. Moon and Seafoam Islands are any interesting. Every other cave is Graveler and Golbat spam with maybe an Onix or Marowak.

I just don't like most Kantomons. The dex is too full of ugly circle-with-a-face mons like Goedude, Jigglypuff, Mankey, Clefairy, Oddish, etc. After getting my starter and a Nidoran from the Indigo League pathway it takes almost til the fourth gym before another mon I like shows up

Honestly, I'll defend this. It was a legit challenge as a kid to get through here and felt like a real achievement. I have good memories of other kids in my street coming to my house so I could play their game and get them through Rock Tunnel.

I kinda like Rock Tunnel. The real point when I get bored of Kanto is post-Snorlax when there’s like 7 routes of grinding required before you fight Koga.

Not just rock tunnel, but baby mode rock tunnel. In FRLG you get a small circle of light around your character. In RBY it was just a pitch black screen with a thud letting you know you hit a wall and the outline of stairs. Also only cowardly fags used flash.

For me its after Erika. I usually get out from rock tunnel, go straight to celadon and do the rocket hideout, then pokemon tower, then beat Erika. For some reason after that I usually lose interest. The route south from lavender is just so boring with all the samey trainers. I know cycling road is quicker and trainers arent as bad, but for some reason ive stopped playing frlg at that point specifically.

I love Kanto but I hate that Blaine and Giovanni are pretty much back to back, I know youre supposed to go through the water routes and seafoam islands but it's not like they offer much in the first place
