Pokemon like honey tree Munchlax, SOS battle Salamence or the fact that Qwilfish can be caught beside Iron Island.

The only two spots to find a wild Steelix in HGSS are the Moltres room of Mt Silver, and the Cliff Cave.
It has a 20% encounter rate in Mt Silver, but only 2% in Cliff Cave. (there are no other Steel mons there besides radio-only Bronzor, so you can abuse Magnet Pull to get Steelix)

There’s a rare Pokémon called “Glam Meow” that can only be captured in a couple areas of Pearl, on the now defunct dream world, through fun fest missions in White 2, and rarely in Omega Ruby on one Mirage Island

It seems a good chunk of the alola mons are pretty tricky to find. To this day I still haven't encountered a wild bruxish, togedemaru, komala, sandyghast, pyukumuku, or dhelmise in alola. I know where to find some of them if I ever felt the desire to get them, but you could theoretically go through multiple playthroughs of sm/usum without ever encountering them.

Pretty sure you can get it in ORAS before the elite four. You can access the mirage spots right before the eighth gym.

You can catch a level 50 magikarp in HG/SS right after beating Morty. For some reason, they decided to add that to the remakes. It's commonly used in manipless speedruns.

Almoat all of Alola's single-stage mons have wierd encounter conditions:
>Togedemaru is only in an optional electrical area
>Komala is rare in one route on the 3rd island
>Passimian and Oranguru are version counterparts, both rare in Lush Jungle
>Comfey also in Lush Jungle
>Turtonator and Drampa version counterparts in an optional area and Victory Road respectively
>Dhelmise only available rarely in a single hard to find fishing spot on Poni
IMO Alola did Johto's "new pokemon reward exploration" thing way better.

The little grass patches blocked by cut trees on rt 12 and 13 had farfetche'd in pokemon yellow. I think it was meant to be a nod to them being able to use cut since you could only get there with cut.

Didn't even notice it was rare when i used one in SM. Fun as shit since clicking Z-Sleep Talk would let you use any Z version of your moves, even without their crystal.
USUM tripled its encounter rate from 10% to 30% anyway.
