>>46451694>The man poured everything into the Unova gamesLol nah that was XY.
Masuda was still a happy person who looked genuinely excited about people playing them and wrote long, happy blog posts about it, compared to the unmotivated and low energy guy we saw during SwSh's interviews.
Rewatch all the pre-release XY videos, Masuda looked so happy in those. He kept smiling and giggling, even talked in French in some, he really couldn't wait for people to try out his game, specially considering it was the first time a simultaneous global release was happening. Even in his blog he was super excited and anxious. Comparing that Masuda to the SwSh one, who looked so dead on interviews is just.. sad, honestly. Up to XY you could see he was actually a happy man and that regardless of the outcome, he put love into these games.
You may not like it, but with XY they at least tried.

It was so odd that he talks XY out of the blue when SM was going full force. And then he would talk about it again during of RBY (20th) or DPPt (10th) anniversary.
So fuck off with this 'Masuda poured all his soul on BW' meme. Masuda made sure to put extra effort and love in 1-6 generation of games, but you can tell that the 20th anniversary broke him when he was forced to rush out SM by TPC.
