I think the main problem with BDSP is that they took the "faithful remake" too literally with the design of the region but still used SWSH assets anyway.
They should have done something similar to Legends where the artstyle was similar but different from LGPE. Instead everything just looks uncanny because it's SWSH assets overlayed on top of DP as it was.
