Yeah it was my first Pokemon game and a good one at that. The graphics are way comfier than what we've gotten post gen 6. Probably has some of the best lore next to gen 4. Lacking in plot, sure, but the designs are solid and I just really hope it's revisited some day.

it's the same shit with people criticizing fan games that actually try to prioritize the storytelling RPG aspect like Insurgence, Reborn, etc. It's funny because despite how much effort they put into SM story it ended up being a contrived meaningless shitshow with no meaningful lore worth revisiting. I highly doubt GF will go back to expand on Ultra beasts if they didnt in SwSh. Lysandre is probably the most based and relatable villain whose main motive is the true blackpill something that's even more applicable to real life than some lame jab at social commentary that was N and team plasma

X and Y were such a beautiful tragedy to me. They were the first 3d gamefreak games that actually kept some decent route design and philosophy from the old games but also implemented 3d. They just didnt have enough time and it make the story and end game weak. The whole game just needed a bit more polish but all in all it was a very good attempt but the abominations that came after it in alola

pretty much this but for the entire game. they knew they had to hit a minimum and reached it but couldnt expand anything pass that. even the battle maison seemed like they wanted more but they cut it off early

As if. XY got horribly overshadowed by all the other things that happened during gen 6, namely the anime, Go and ORAS. When people get nostalgia for these times its usually due to one of these 3 things, XY I see barely anyone care about.

Maybe the humanoid starters but even then it's not as blatant as G*lar. The rest, fuck no. Xerneas and Yveltal are some of the best legendary designs out there and XY are harder than SM by virtue of being actual games. SM isn't a game, it's a glorified visual novel.

Of course it had it's fair share of obvious flaws, including but not limited to being piss easy, having forgettable characters and being rushed after beating Korrina, but I have lots of fond memories of XY. Not getting Z hurt a lot since I really like the region.

Well Black and White 1 always had issues, anon. I'm a huge Gen 5 fag but this is an objective truth. The main appeal was in the character designs and the story, but a lot of the Unova Dex is ugly and the first game forces you to use only that Dex.

Even story has issues, and not to mention, Gen 5 starts the trend of interrupting you often; B/W1 is very linear. I'm not sure if B/W2 is as linear, but I know people have issues with Hugh's central role in the story.

One thing though, Cheren and Bianca are much better friends than Tierno, Shauna and that one other kid.

Gen 5 has always been better than Gen 6 in many ways (mainly videogames), but I've guilty taste and much prefer Kalos's Pokedex over Unova's (mainly because of the amount of copies/inspirations/reinterpretations of Kanto designs).

Except the Kalos's Pokedex and Online-game features, fuck X/Y

You are the first person I've ever seen mention Clawitzer post-release lol. They gave it's signature ability to Blastoise and pushed it aside, confirming that they'd rather just suck Kanto off some more instead of letting their dex shine. Skrelp was pretty based though.
