no features are lost between games, contests are permanent, battle frontier is permanent. Any added feature cannot be removed only expanded upon.
Megas and Dynamax will not be added, a variation of z crystals will be added, they won't have any signature z moves though and are more about doing added effects than extra damage.
games continue like this, side games like mystery dungeon, colosseum/xd, rangers etc. All side games are compatible in some way to the main game line.
The card game is actually fun.
