these are my only issue with the mechanic. Make the animation faster and nerf Airstream to only have ~90 BP like Max Knuckle and Ooze do and it's good.

I just find it sad that so many Galar pokemon were clearly designed with Gigantamax in mind, so after this gen ends they'll be stuck in these unfinished designs for decades because Galar won't be revisited anytime soon.

This is exactly why I feel they didn’t give Kalos Pokémon Megas (except for Diancie). Coalossal is the best example of a design only being fully realized via the temporary form. Sandaconda, Drednaw and Grimmsnarl also suffer from this

This. Gimmicks just make battles feel too samey.
Gen 6 is all about how you use your mega.
Gen 7 is all about how you use your mega and z move.
Gen 8 is all about how you use your dynamax.
Previous gens had big focuses on mechanics, like gen 5 and weather, but the difference is that you could actually have a functional gen 5 team without weather.

The difference is that the existence of a single move usually doesn't make certain pokemon objectively better than others some moves are strong, but usually there are similar ones for other pokemon or ways to counter the strong moves.

Not every mon has good coverage. Not every mon has spikes-like moves. Not every mon has paralyzing moves. Not every mon has >100BP moves. You can even enter into ability territory and shit gets even worse, specially with hidden abilities.
