No, but instead of some unofficial fan shit I competed in the VGC back when it was still called the VGS
At that time it was invitation only and you had to pass a written knowledge exam in order to qualify for registration
I still have the lanyard which was only given to competitors and my registration band to prove it
I placed within the top 8 nationally and went to Florida to compete against the top 8 from japan
I was actually the one that pioneered fireblast machamp as a skarmory check which was popular for a while.

Ultimately I blundered in the quarter finals, I needed one more attack turn and I would've moved on. My mistake was thunderbolting when I should've ice beamed. The para on my opponants clefable wasn't helpful and freeze would've been a more useful condition

I was unaware magic guard at that time only lowered speed during paralysis but made it immune to losing turns
That secondary effect was nowhere in the move description
