Caves/Dungeons we can discover in the world, boss battles, riding our own Pokemon to get around(No Ride shit like Alola), and a massive Pokedex.

I want it to have at least 25 side quests as well as maybe some trainers. I understand this is before pokemon training was really a thing but I'm hoping for just someone to battle. Other than that though I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it. Even if it won't be the best game ever, I still feel like it has ample potential to be a great pokemon game that breaks the mold for the series.

Environment reacting to pokemon battles would be nice: grass burning because of fire-based attacks, trees getting obliterated by hyper beams, etc.

Towns that are large and full of people/quests/etc. Something like the various towns/populated areas of the Xenoblade games. They can still be inspired by the already established Gen 4 towns/cities. I just want to see more life than we normally see. I think sword and shield were on the right track, but they lacked more open space and buildings to explore.

Let them try this out and get their feet wet without turn based and then hopefully it goes into a fully dynamic battle system in the future

And by the way I don't really care if this type of game has every single pokemon in it,
Keep the regular turn based mainline games how they are, there is an audience for that, people like the gameplay in those.
But they are missing an opportunity by not having a more action adventure oriented spin off which this could be

They're probably working on both games simultaneously right now and will want to process feedback from legends arceus before they finish development with gen 9

I think we're going to get the first announcement either at E3 or in a separate pokemon direct right before it
New pokemon probably around September/October, or after bdsp releases
Maybe this years mythical will be in both games

I want to go to Johto at some point and see a fleshed out Blackthorn city and the dragon clan/Lance and Claire's ancestors. Ecruteak, too. I don't know if the times would line up but I'd like to see anything about Ecruteak's towers.

-Boss battles with powerful, unique Pokemon
-Ride system similar to S/M
-Mixed real-time/turn-based combat with seamless transitions
-New Pokemon that were driven to extinction after Sinnoh was colonized
-New variants/evolutions of Pokemon that existed before being forcibly relocated from their habitats

Most of these were already my most requested features and the preview last week addressed almost all of them.

Does this style of gameplay appeal to a lot of people? I agree keeping traditional turn-based in the mainline games and pushing the envelope with spin-offs like Legends, but I find that style very erratic.

There’s too much going on. If they made that style of gameplay, but for 1v1, then we essentially have Pokken. I feel like a mixed real-time and turn-based combat is best. I assumed most people want to play as the trainer, not the Pokemon.

I want to be able to re discover parts of Sinnoh that haven’t developed into what they are in the current day. I want to find Hunters out in the wilderness and beat their asses. I want the equivalent to Tarry Town. And also Legitimate lore that builds on Sinnoh’s already large mythos

the one thing that worries me about this pice is that it seems that the bird is carrying some sort of support that the trainer holds on to with its talons
I don't like that, I want the trainer to be on the mon, not to get carried around like that

It might be a way to make smaller birb mons viable for the flying/gliding mechanic. It would just look fucking weird if your player sits in a tiny Starly in a 3D game. It worked fine when fly was just a little cutscene, but not in 3D.

I figured that a good compromise would have been to just not allow the player to fly on a puny ass swablu, therefore allowing flight exclusively for fully evolved birds, alongside maybe the usual HM or maybe some other mcguffin like flight equipment in order to prevent the player from covering the whole map in 30 minutes
I want to ride a goddamn staraptor or corviknight proper, not be dangled around like a shmuck

Delay the game so they have more time to work on it and polish
Pokemon to be properly scaled to their actual size
Some new Pokemon or regional forms would be neat
Less hand-holding (Almost certainly won't happen though)

Honestly, voice acting and good animations.
That's it.

Maybe something like that. They could just add a stamina bar to the bird so it's not overused.
Also I'm pretty sure by the leaked pics that they'll go with the Sun/Moon method of having pokemon from outside your party be the traversal method, like you'll only be able to fly with designated bird and climb with designated mon and such.

Why? I don't understand what people think this would add. It did nothing but drag down Breath of the Wild, especially with that shitty English dub. You apply the perfect voice to every character in your head anyway, so voice acting can only make the experience less immersive by giving characters voices that don't match what you imagined.

That's fair, it's understandable why people would be less inclined to do a shitton of reading when playing a video game. The wordier stuff can get on my nerves too. I've just never thought of voice acting as a solution to that problem, because the baggage it brings is just as bad if not worse in my eyes. Reading might get tedious but at least it provides a gap for me to fill in with my imagination, personalizing the experience. You lose that with voice acting, and with a bad performance you just get taken even further out of the experience.

I just hope this is for demo purposes and we shouldn't expect shit like garchomp just walking around in a field

thats one of the things I hated about the wild area the most is they had so many rare and strong pokemon just derping around out in the open
powerful mons should be reclusive

I want new forms for Fossilmons.
Since they obviously can't use science to ressurect Fossils I want to there to be some channeler or shaman type NPC who uses some mystic voodoo or whatever asian shit to revive fossils.
