I like Gen 5, but it was the first to ditch the "classic" map design we saw from kanto to sinnoh, instead streamlining everything into more or less walking down a straight line (or rather, going clockwise around a giant circle). But it also had a cont of areas after the E4 as additional content, so it wasn't all bad.

Also those complaints only really apply to BW1. BW2's unova map remedied the issues.
