Barry has piplup in the anime and pokemon masters as well as most promotional material other than what you just posted.

I also think turtwig is the more fitting starter because chimchar and piplup fit with the rivals. But no one gives a fuck about an entire png filled with rambling and mental gymnastics to get unconfirmed validity from the fandom for some random useless shit

Not that guy but I think it's mentioned that the MCs/Rivals are just using eggmons so that's not a real indication of what starter they actually picked. But it's the only thing we have to go off by.

Those are so valid arguments because that's what Pokemon IS. There is no real canon, and there is a multiverse. EVERY cartridge and individual game is essential it's own universe loosely connected by referencing events that time into other games. This is irrefutable.
