No. Both LGPE and SWSH were always meant to be Switch games.
SWSH just uses the SM style which is woefully unpolished compared to the style LGPE went for.

We can be fairly sure they were always going to be for Switch, since the game's biggest feature is "big pokemon cuz now the screen is bigger" and due to the game's engine being the same one they used for LGPE, composed out of Nintendo's own BOTW engine which has always been focused for console development.

I don't even know why people try to meme 'it plays like the 3ds game!" so hard when literally 90% of the Switch's console games play the same as their 3DS counterparts too.

swsh is the way it is not because it was meant to be a 3ds game, it's because they wanted a pokemon game on the switch asap
