That's stuff like RSE not having a day/night cycle or GSC gym leaders not using many Johto Pokémon. The stranglehold of interruptions and dialogue in Gen 7 is AGONIZING and makes the game incredibly frustrating and boring to play. Couple that with the worst designed region in terms of both map layout and thematics (fuck Hawaii) and you have the worst games in the series.

I honestly didn't hate Gen 7 like a lot of people. There were some things I liked such as:
>good batch of new Pokemon designs
>characters were likeable except Lillie
>went back to Gen 5's EXP system
>Island challenge was fresh
>was more challenging than the previous couple of gens
There are also some things I didn't like:
>No water routes in between islands(not a common complaint but it really bummed me out personally)
>USUM under delivered, Pikachu valley was pointless and Ultra Megalopolis was a fucking hallway also they barely incorporated the Ultra Recon squad into the story and could've went farther with Necrozma
>Festival Plaza, seriously what was GF thinking?
>The constant cutscenes, it seemed like I couldn't go more than 5 minutes without Lillie interrupting me.
There's a lot more if I sat down and thought about it but this is all I could think of off the top of my head.

Yeah that's honestly a fair point and I hate that water routes have become viewed this way. There are so many water types and so many ways to make traversing the water fun(whirlpools, diving, waterfalls, current puzzles). But you're right GF would have just made it like it was in Hoenn so it was for the best.

RPG for me is simply where you have to act as a character in a very not defined storyline. Interactivity with other characters is essential but USUM was just a cashgrab, to deceive the playerbase and losing old fanbase trust ever since.

And I guess gamefreak is more on about story... but cmon. It was literally copy and paste with some minor retarded changes with small characters added and overall story change. Wooooh.
