Cyrus' grunts and other followers that you see more often throughout the game (Team Galactic) don't really reciprocate his gloomy demeanor. They just want to fuck shit up.
Whereas Team Plasma, N, and Ghetsis are all insufferable recurring characters whose tiresome ideals pervade throughout Black and White alot more than the usual Pokemon villain

P.S. I never played Platinum so I don't know if Cyrus is more preachy there, but in DP he just appears once to give you Master Ball then fucks off for the rest of the game
