So while there are reasons, they’re based on problems not advantages. Theoretically, something like Hydreigon could run Iron Tail to hit Sylveon harder than Flash Cannon, but this is still too niche of a scenario which would it make it much worse against everything else (due to its -def nature and the weakness of the uninvested move against other things).
How do we save mixed attackers? People have suggested removing the current EV system, and while this would work I’m wondering if there’s any other ideas.
Having Attack/Special Attack count as the same stat (ev investment wise) might do the trick, but this also might make many mixed attackers too powerful.
